Last Tuesday, early in the evening, several children were threatened by a Cuban who, with a knife, accused them of having stolen a hookah from him; the park security guard notified the police, and they were arrested.
This Wednesday, Lester Gabriel Álvarez Sori appeared in Miami-Dade criminal court for shouting threats against several children who were playing soccer in a park in the early hours of the evening in Coral Gables.
This incident was recorded with a cell phone, where the moment in which the Cuban pulled out a knife in front of the children could be seen.
The mothers said that the neighborhood is very quiet, so the children played without the presence of an adult family member.
The defendant, Lester Gabriel Alvarez Sori, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. He was given bail of eight thousand dollars and will remain under house arrest wearing an electronic bracelet while awaiting trial.
